Bangor CC wrapped up a brilliant season with a great Awards Night & Dinner, bringing together players, supporters and volunteers to celebrate the club’s achievements both on and off the pitch this season. The evening was evidence of how well the Club is progressing on & off the pitch and the spirit & the camaraderie that is building right across the club. Congratulations to all the award winners on the night and great to see so many individuals rewarded for great performances on the pitch this season.
There were many notable highlights with the Men’s 1XI winning the T20 Trophy and competing very well in their first season back in Section 1. The Men’s 2XI had a brilliant season finishing second in JL2 with the 3XI winning the JL5 title and showing that the squad depth behind the 1XI squad is strong and thriving. The Women’s section of the club continues to excite and develop with the 1XI competing well in their first season in Senior League 1 which will make the players better for that experience ahead of 2026. The introduction of the 2XI shows the growing numbers in the section and remaining unbeaten and finishing top of their league.
The Youth section is the lifeblood of the Club and continues to grow to record breaking numbers with just under 300 kids and 10 teams across many different age groups ensuring our junior members have many avenues to enjoy their cricket and keep developing their skills. Notable highlights being the U11 & U13 Boys sides winning their Premier League’s! Many thanks to all the coaches & parents for their continued support and huge efforts they go to, so that the kids continue to enjoy their cricket. Great to see many of our junior members go on to make representative honours for the NCU Knights as well and special recognition to Felix McMillan & Sam McMillan who represented the Ireland U15 side and Emerging Knights teams this Summer.
A special thanks was extended to Christine and the rest of the bar staff, their tireless efforts and warm hospitality keeps the club running on a matchday ensuring the tea’s are ready to go during the innings break. Equally deserving of praise was our groundsman Barney and his hardworking team, whose meticulous care ensured the pitches and outfield was always in top condition whatever the weather threw at us. A final thanks as well to all those behind the scenes and on the Committee who put in tireless amounts of effort during the season to ensure the club continues to operate and progress forward too.
