Bangor Cricket Club are delighted to announce All Rounder, Robbie van Harte as its oversea’s player for the upcoming 2024 season. He is a top order batsman and skillful seam bowler with plenty of experience of playing league cricket out in South Africa.
Bangor won’t entirely be a stranger to Robbie as he currently a teammate of Kuda’s at Milnerton CC out in Cape Town. He’s currently playing in the WPCA Premier League this season playing a key part in Milnerton’s successful 2022-23 league winning season picking up 19 wickets at an average of 22 and scoring over 200 runs at an average of 25 in the WPCA First Division. He has vast coaching experience being a Cricket South Africa Level 2 coach and a full time coach at The Complete Cricketer in Cape Town.
Ahead of joining up with us Robin said “I am extremely excited and looking forward to the season, I can’t wait to meet everyone and bringing my playing and coaching experience across the club. I’ve heard Bangor is a beautiful place beside the sea and a club on the up with a growing Youth section and I’m looking forward to helping out with the development of the club with my coaching skills.”
Club Captain Jonny Parker added “We are extremely excited to welcome Robbie to Bangor for this coming season. We believe that he will be a fantastic addition on the field and very much looking forward to him adding his knowledge and experience to the younger members of our squad. The vibrant Youth section we have at Bangor CC is something we are very proud of. We are keen to continue to improve the services we can offer for our next generation of cricketers and we believe, Robbie, who comes with a wealth of coaching experience, will be a huge asset for the club as we continue to invest in our young and exciting cricketers”.

A Bit More About Robbie
I live in Cape Town, South Africa, currently playing in my 26th season. I am the Player/Coach at Milnerton CC and we play in the Premier League in the Western Province after our promotion last season.
Currently I’m a full time cricket coach at a local cricket academy for the past 10 years and I have represented Western Province at various age group levels. I love my Cricket and passionate about the game and what it has to offer to everyone, young or the not so young! I’ve also had the privilege of working with some of our top South African Women players, namely Mignon Du Preez, Laura Wolvaardt, Nadine De klerk and Delmi Tucker this season.
